The Window: Reviews & Ratings
Swirled the cherry almond and vanilla last night- WOW! The tang of the vegan cherry almond flavor was incredible, and the vanilla was so creamy and had specks of French vanilla in there. I LOVE soft serve and it is so hard to find quality, actually creamy (not icey) soft serve, and this place delivers!!! Ate it in a cup while strolling the neighborhood, great evening :) please keep the cherry almond flavor, it’s divine!!!
Best place to get ice cream on the walk home after dinner or to the car! Ice cream sandwiches are also delicious!
I appreciate the simple menu. Just 2 sandwhich options. Both so different and so good! Hoagie - had pickled cauliflower! So unique Chopped Cheese - salty but perfectly meaty with melty cheese I didn’t try the soft serve because it was breakfast time but that didn’t stop a lot of people Takeout window only, same owners as Temple Pastries which have the best croissant type pastries. So many crispy layers! So I had to try this cutely designed takeout window.
Next door to Temple Pastries and run by the same folks, this is a grab and go sandwich counter. Got the “Chopped Cheese” which had ground beef, griddled onion, white American cheese on Temple Pastries hoagie bun. Definitely recommend this sandwich as it had a good quantity of flavorful meat, was cheesy, hot and was simply delicious. Didn’t try the ice cream since prior reviews below weren’t motivating. There isn’t much seating and it’s limited parking so be ready to grab and go.
Brand new spot from the folks that are right next door temple pastries! Tried their chopped cheese and it was magical. Bread (from temple) was to die for as expected. Ground beef, cheese, and onions were spiced to perfection. Seeing some negative reviews regarding the ice cream; didn’t have it so can’t speak to it but their sandwiches are ELITE.
Parent here! Stroller friendly with a few tables to sit at. The evening we went around 7pm was not busy at all. We also came with our pupper! The guava and vanilla together was super tasty and guava tasted fresh. The strawberry cheesecake sammy was pleasantly sweet but not overpowering. The gal who helped us was welcoming and answered all our questions. Parking was tricky but luckily we live down the street so we walked over!
Solid! If you like temple pastries, you’ll like their ice cream child. We split a s’mores Sammie ($9) and a soft serve twist ($6)(pineapple sorbet and vanilla ice cream) with a chocolate dip($1). Sammie had a nice balance of saltiness and the blondie they used had the same amount of frozen as the ice cream(you know how sometimes the cookie/brownie can be too hard or soft or crumbly? Not the case here!); the blondie also didn’t stick to your fingers, which is sooo nice. The toasted meringue was a nice touch. The vanilla soft serve was super creamy and not too sweet, well paired with the tang of the pineapple.
Some of the best ice cream and ice cream sandwiches we’ve had. Really flavorful and unique. Definitely recommend.

The Window2524 S Jackson St, Seattle, WA 98144, United States
Nestled in Seattle’s vibrant 2524 S Jackson St neighborhood, The Window offers more than just ice cream—it's a destination for quality soft serve and savory sandwiches that truly stand out. Known for its streamlined takeout-only concept, this ice cream shop shares its roots with the celebrated Temple Pastries next door, bringing the same dedication to exceptional baking and flavor craft.
The soft serve here is a revelation. The cherry almond vegan flavor, described by one passionate local as "divine," strikes a perfect balance of tangy fruitiness and refreshing creaminess, rounded out with specks of French vanilla for an authentic finish. Unlike many soft serves, it maintains a rich, smooth texture far from the icy, hollow versions so often found elsewhere. Whether enjoyed on a leisurely walk or as an evening treat, the ice cream captures a nostalgic yet elevated experience.
The menu’s savory offerings also demand attention. The Chopped Cheese sandwich combines perfectly seasoned ground beef, griddled onions, and melted white American cheese, all embraced by Temple Pastries’ famously flaky hoagie buns. This hearty, meaty combo has earned acclaim for its satisfying saltiness and gooey cheese melt, making it an ideal grab-and-go lunch or dinner companion. The Italian Hoagie introduces a unique twist with pickled cauliflower, adding a bright, tangy crunch that refreshes the palate and complements the robust sandwich flavors.
Additionally, the Dodger Dog rounds out the menu with a comforting, nostalgic option that fits perfectly with The Window’s emphasis on quality and simplicity. These three staples highlight a focused, intentional menu designed to deliver exceptional taste without overwhelm.
With limited seating and a takeout window service model, The Window excels as a quick stop for those craving expertly crafted ice cream and artisanal sandwiches. The synergy between the ice cream shop and Temple Pastries lends this spot a level of craftsmanship and flavor authenticity that elevates the standard grab-and-go experience. Whether it’s the smooth soft serve or the rich, cheesy sandwiches, The Window makes a lasting impression on Seattle’s culinary scene.
